RBI World Tournament 2019 concludes

With a large Dominican representation of 13 young people, the Dominican team participated in the RBI World Tournament, in the city of Vero Beach, Florida. With the protagonism of 7 players from the RBI Barahona Program of the Central Barahona Foundation (FCB).

The team concluded with a double elimination journey ending with a 2-3 record, facing the Cincinnati, Astros, and Cleveland teams from group B. These matches were the World Cup qualifier.

RBI Barahona Player Receives Scholarship

Within the closing event of the tournament, one of the RBI Barahona players was awarded a university scholarship for her great performance, the young Gabriela Alcántara from the El Cachón community, who will soon enter the university thanks to this great recognition.

After the excellent participation of all the players in the RBI Barahona, it is shown that although the World Cup was not won with the national softball women’s team, they were one step away from doing so.

With this edition, the 5 years agreed with Major League Baseball (MLB) and the RBI Barahona Program were completed, so preparations are being made for next year to resume this agreement with MLB executives for a new season and continue contributing with the youth of the south in areas such as sports.
