CAC receives CEA director visit

The recently assigned director of the Consejo Estatal del Azúcar (Estate Sugar Council), Luis Miguel Piccirillo, visited the facilities of the Consorcio Azucarero Central (CAC), where he was received by Virgilio Pérez-Banal, president of CAC’s Administration Council, and Pablo Campollo, general Manager, along with other executives of the company.

During the visit, Piccirillo valued positively the work that CAC has been doing to achieve better efficiency in the production of sugar, as well as efficiency in the use of time during the production period.

He also highlighted the investments made to modernize the Barahona Mill, with more than 100 years of history, and which is the largest company in the entire southern region.

At his side, Virgilio Pérez-Banal, offered details on the resulting figures in the harvests made since CAC took over the operations of the Barahona Mill, highlighting that it is the only one of those privatized by the Dominican State that continues to operate.

He also said that CAC is the engine of the economy of the 3 provinces where it has a presence, also promoting its development with the social welfare works that it executes in more than 59 communities.

Consorcio Azucarero Central (CAC), is a company that has dedicated itself to the cultivation and production of sugar cane, contributing to the socioeconomic development of the area of ​​influence where Ingenio Barahona operates and being the main industry in the southern region of the Dominican Republic.
