The payment of these funds began with an act at the facilities of the sugar company; Denny Pérez, regional director of the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) was present representing the IAD; Luis Emilio Cuello representing the parceleros, while representing CAC was Administrative Manager, José Antonio García; the Human Resources manager, Virgilio Pérez-Bernal; the Legal Superintendent, Karim Galarza and Amable Rogelio Feliz, Superintendent of Treasury.

For his side, the director of the IAD expressed that in his institution they feel more than satisfied with the relationship that the company has developed with the landowners and the fulfillment of the contract that was established in 2007.

When pronouncing the central words of the act, García said that: “although you as parceleros do not work directly for the company, by leasing these lands to CAC you are part of the company, which has allowed us to continue operating even in times of COVID-19, and with that we have managed to ensure that not only all our personnel continue to operate, but we have also been able to support the population of the Enriquillo region in these difficult times”.

The beneficiaries are from the Los Saladillos, Cabral, Salinas, Angostura and Barahona communities.

The Angostura parceleros received the payment corresponding to the period (2020-2022), in which 15 years of a fruitful relationship between the parceleros and CAC would be completed.
